What is Fixed Base registration?

Fixed Base Registration is an ongoing process to update all fixed customer accounts with their Ghana Card details while updating all corresponding contact details.

Why do I have to register my Fibre Account?

As part of a directive issued by the NCA to register all SIM cards before use, all fixed services are to be registered with corresponding Ghana card details.

When should I register my Fibre Account?

Visit the online portal to self-register, contact your relationship manager, alternatively you can visit any of our retail shops .

Who is required to register a Fibre Account?

All existing customers and new customers on the Telecel Broadband network.

Do I need to go to the store for biometric registration?

No, biometric registration is not required for this process.

What are the requirements for registration?

  1. a. Ghanaian Citizens – A valid Ghana Card
  2. b. Foreign Nationals – Passports or A Valid Non-Citizen Ghana Card

How many Fibre Accounts can I register?

There is no limit to how many fibre accounts an Individual can register as long as the account details match the Ghana card details

How do I find my Broadband UserID if I do not remember it?

All account info is shared with you during the installation phase, kindly refer to the originating documents. Alternatively, you can access any of our self-service channels for reference:

Will I be required to make payment for the registration exercise?

No. The registration process is free.

Can I get my Fibre Account registered if I do not have a Ghana Card ID?

No. All registrations must be done with only the Ghana Card for Ghanaian citizens.

How can I update my registration with my Ghana Card?

You will need to link your Ghana Card to your Fibre Account card using the various options below:

Can I register with my details on behalf of a minor (<15 years of age)?

The minimum age for setting up a fixed account is 18 years old.

Will foreign nationals residing in Ghana be permitted to register their Fibre Accounts?

Yes, using their passports and/or Non-Citizen Ghana Card.

Can I register my personal Fibre Account using my company registration details?

No.

How safe is my personal details when captured?

Telecel takes your privacy very seriously and we take all measures to ensure that your data is safe and secure as per the Data Protection Act 2012, Act 843.

I have multiple Fibre Accounts with the same details, will the details change for all if I register one?

The updated Ghana Card details will apply to your multiple fibre accounts.

How can I check if my registration was successful?

You will receive an SMS to confirm your account was successfully registered.

I already used Ghana Card before the directive, do I have to register again?

Yes. The National Communication Authority and Ministry of Communications & Digitalization have instructed that all Fibre Accounts be registered again using the Ghana Card ONLY.

I am a foreign national, but I do not have the non-citizen Ghana Card, what should I do?

You can register your Fibre account with your foreign passport.

Do I have to register my smart surf?

Yes. You can do so at your closest retail shops.

I am a Ghanaian citizen, but I do not have the Ghana Card, what should I do?

Visit any of the National Identification Authority (NIA) offices across the country for support. More information can be found at ?https://nia.gov.gh/registration-centers/?.
