IMPORTANT NOTICE/TERMS OF SERVICE

It is Telecel’s policy to comply with all applicable legislation, this includes compliance with the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2020 (Act 1044), the Anti- Money Laundering Regulations, 2011 (L1 1987), the Anti- Terrorism Act, 2008 (Act 762), the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment Act, 2012 (Act 842) and all existing and future directives or guidelines of the Bank of Ghana on AML, as well as adhering to international standards and best practice.

Money Laundering means the engagement of a person/persons directly or indirectly in conversion, transfer, concealment, disguising, use or acquisition of money or property known to be of illicit origin and in which such engagement intends to avoid the legal consequences of such action.

Prohibition: The Merchant agrees and understands that the movement of money through the Telecel Cash System which is or forms part of the proceeds of any crime or is intended to facilitate, aid or finance the commission of any crime is expressly prohibited.

Compliance: The Merchant shall ensure that all its staff and operators responsible for Telecel Cash Merchant services comply with all Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing laws, regulations, standards or directives in force from time to time, including any guidelines, policies and procedures to that effect as may be issued by Telecel Cash from time to time.

Monitoring: Each Party will monitor, report and act accordingly as provided by Applicable Law and its internal related policies against any suspicious activity in relation to payments made to or from the Telecel Cash Services to AMLteam@telecel.com.gh.
