Who is Telecel WIB for?

To be a member of Telecel WIB, you first need to be a Telecel customer on any of our Telecel packages with a minimum spend of GH 200 per month, and meet the following criteria:

  • We will need a copy of your company registration, specifically a copy of your company registration Form A or Form 3 documents.
  • At least one of the directors listed on the company registration should be female
  • We will need a copy of your ID to confirm the name on the company registration and gender
  • Please note, some of the membership offers will have additional requirements.

  1. What is Telecel Women in Business (WIB )?
    Telecel Women in Business (WIB ) is an initiative by Telecel Ghana aimed at empowering and supporting female entrepreneurs. It provides a range of tailored products, resources, services, and events to help women-led businesses thrive.
  2. Who is eligible to be a part of WIB?
    Any women-led businesses who is a customer on any Telecel package with a minimum spend of GH 200 per month qualifies. Additionally, the female entrepreneur and business owner must meet the following criteria:
  • Company registration document, specifically Form A or Form 3 must be provided.
  • At least one of the directors listed on the company registration should be female. For sole proprietorships, a woman should be the owner
  • A means of identification to confirm the name on the company registration and gender, specifically the Ghana Card
  1. How long does a business need to have been operating to qualify for WIB ?
    The business can be any age but have any Telecel business packages with a minimum spend of GH 200 per month.
  2. What are the benefits of joining WIB?
    WIB is structured around six pillars, each addressing specific business needs:
  • Reach
  • Digital Tools: Access to website services provided for free by Telecel, to celebrate your first six (6) months subscription to WIB. Maintenance services are offered at competitive rates. Access is granted through an RSVP form.
  • WIB Marketplace: Access to regional cashless bazaars and festivals, designed to connect local businesses with their communities. Registration is required for each event.
  • Digital Marketplace: Opportunity to sell products and services to a wider market via Telecel Play.
  • Empower
  • Empire She Built: Webinar sessions with influential women from various industries, discussing their journeys to success. These sessions include audience participation for questions and knowledge sharing.
  • She Speaks: Short episodes featuring influential women sharing bite-sized wisdom and insights.
  • Accelerate
  • Pitch-a-thon: In partnership with the McDan Foundation, WIB participants have the chance to secure spots on the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge. This show provides training, mentorship, and prize packages from Telecel and McDan Enterprises, along with significant business exposure. Access is provided through a registration form.
  • Loans:
    ABSA Bank Loans: Absa Bank offers SME Loans at an agreed interest rate to WIB participants, with loans up to GHS 1,000,000.00 unsecured loans, and n and 11 million with collateral – all at a fixed interest rate of 10 percent. Absa also facilitates the creation of savings accounts with assigned relationship managers. Access is provided through a registration form.
    Fido Digi Loans: Fido offers business loans, available through the Fido mobile application at preferential interest rates less than what Fido offers. As part of this partnership, WIB accounts are entitles to 25% less on business loans. Loan applications are triggered from a redirect on the WIB platform.
    McDan Loan Packages: McDan Enterprises offers loans to WIB participants, providing a great avenue for business growth. Access is provided through a registration form.
  • Engage
  • Women 100 Power Lunch: An annual lunch event for 100 influential women to network, dine, and celebrate women empowerment. Access is provided through a registration form.
  • WIB Sponsored Events: Throughout the year, events are organized for women-led businesses and professionals to connect and network. Access is provided through a registration form.
  • Reward
  • Red Loyalty: WIB participants are entitled to an enhanced version of the Red Loyalty Package. For every point accumulated on their spend, participants earn 50% more, which can be used for data and airtime packages, Telecel Business bill payments, and recreational activities.
    Since Red Loyalty is a postpaid based service, this offer is limited to Enterprise customers exclusively. Business accounts also need to be activated Red Loyalty subscribers to enjoy these benefits (See Appendix for Red Loyalty Ts & Cs).
  • Assurance
  • Turaco Health & Life: With your WIB account, get access to affordable health and life insurance policies from Turaco, with discounted prices, as low as 50% off offered exclusively to you.
  1. How can I join WIB ?

  1. Is there a fee to join WIB ?

No, there is no fee to join WIB . It is a free initiative provided by Telecel Ghana to support female entrepreneurs in the SME sector.

  1. How does WIB contribute to the empowerment of women in business?

WIB contributes to the empowerment of women by addressing their unique business needs, providing them with resources and opportunities to grow, and fostering a supportive community of empowered female SME owners.

  1. What is the process for loan and insurance applications and how do I qualify?
    For each of our Loan and Insurance packages, you will be referred to the respective partner when you request to do so. Telecel WIB grants you to high value, low interest loans and discounted insurance packages, but the process for securing either one is done on behalf of the financial partner.
  2. Is every woman eligible?
    Yes, every woman is eligible for Telecel WIB, however for specific products and services hosted under various pillars, additional levels of eligibility are stated.
  3. Can my WIB account be activated?
    Yes, your account can be deactivated, on the basis of you no longer being a Telecel Customer.
  4. Can I use one business documentation to register multiple WIB Accounts?
    If your business has multiple female leadership figures, you are free to sign up for a Telecel WIB account using the same Form 3 Documentation. Please note however, that even though you may have a valid accounts, some services such as the loan services, are issued to the business. This means that multiple users under the same business cannot apply for the same loan package.
  5. What part does Telecel play in the loan process?
    By virtue of a great partnership, your status as a WIB account provides you with access to Fido and Absa loan services. Telecel has no direct role in the vetting process and approvals, and only provides you with access to partnership products and services at discounted costs and reduce interest rates
